There’s a recliner in my living room that gets more honesty out of me than anywhere else in the apartment. It’s where I land at the end of a stressful day, and it’s genuinely my favorite spot in the whole place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I sit down, put something on the big screen, and let my feet finally come up. That part matters more than people think. After a day on your feet, or a day stuck in your own head, just being able to raise them changes something. The TV is on, but it’s not really what I’m there for. What I’m actually doing is going over everything I’m juggling: my family, Haiti, Harvest Edge Living, the daily to-do list that never fully empties. That’s where I sort out what actually needs my attention first and what can wait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s something about the recliner itself that makes this work. It’s snug against me in a way the couch isn’t. I can’t fully explain it. It just fits. Some nights I get so settled into it that I fall asleep right there, snoring through whatever’s on the screen. I used to be a little embarrassed about that. Now I think it just means the chair feels that safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s not a big production. Nobody watching would see anything more than a guy in a recliner with the TV on. But that quiet stretch, feet up, mind slowly emptying out, is doing something real. By the time I get up, the day is actually behind me instead of still sitting on my chest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everybody’s got their version of this, whether they’ve noticed it or not. Mine’s a recliner. Yours might be a kitchen chair, or a spot on the porch. Whatever it is, it’s worth paying attention to.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
